About us
Built by operators, for operators
Heli Forge Aviation was formed by commercial helicopter pilots and engineers who were tired of watching good operations undone by paperwork drift. We fly the aircraft, and we run the systems that keep them legal.
Heli Forge Aviation (Pty) Ltd holds South African Civil Aviation Authority Air Operator Certificate ZA/AOC/G1187 and operates a fleet of six turbine and piston helicopters from four bases. Our work splits roughly evenly between corporate and private charter, safari and lodge transfers, and aerial work for the utility and mining sectors.
The company is led by an accountable manager, a flight operations manager, a safety manager and a security manager, each with defined authority under our Operations Manual and Safety Management System. Post holders are approved by the SACAA and our compliance position is reviewed monthly.
Our engineering is carried out by an approved maintenance organisation working to manufacturer schedules, with component hours, cycles and defects tracked against each airframe. Aircraft are released to service only when the technical record and the operational record agree.

How we work
Three commitments we hold to on every flight
01
Nothing flies out of currency
Crew licences, medicals, type currency and recurrent training are checked by the system before a flight can be confirmed.
02
Report without fear
Our just-culture reporting policy protects crew who report hazards and near misses. Reports are investigated and closed out in writing.
03
The client sees the plan
Routing, timings, weather limits and alternates are agreed before the day, and changes are communicated by the operations desk directly.
